Glory of Missouri Award
VIVID’s own, Hayden Sampson, has won the Glory of Missouri award. This award recognizes fourteen students who represent one of the virtues engraved in the house chamber. These virtues are Knowledge, Liberty, Equality, Law, Justice, Fraternity, Education, Progress, Honor, Truth, Virtue, Temperance, Enterprise, and Charity. This award will be hand signed by the Missouri House of Representatives, and the virtues were established between 1922 and 1924 when the capital was rebuilt.
Emanuel James Rohn, an American entrepreneur, summarizes it as, “To be enterprising is to keep your eyes open and your mind active. It's to be skilled enough, confident enough, creative enough and disciplined enough to seize opportunities that present themselves…regardless of the economy.” Hayden exhibits this summary by her leadership role in VIVID, and the exchange year she did overseas in Germany.
